Job Summary:
The full-time positionSenior Accountant candidate will work directly with clients and all members of our team. You will originate and review financial statements; provide operations support and technical review for a team of accountants and take full responsibility of projects across an array of compliance, reporting and advisory engagements. This includes maintaining their accounting software, month-end closings, financial statement preparation, AP, AR, creating monthly KPI reports, and participating in the tax preparation for their individual and business client bases.
You will also be tasked with the supervision and mentoring of staff accountants as well as resolution of tax and accounting related issues for existing and new clients. The ideal candidate will need to be a CPA or CPA candidate with 6+ years’ experience in accounting with increased levels of responsibility.The Senior Accountant will report directly to Senior Level Management.

Duties/Responsibilities also include:

  • Presentation and discussion of financial reports with clients during financial review meetings.
  • Creating and reviewing all period-end activities to ensure the period-end financial statements accurately reflect the results of a client’s activities.
  • Assisting and training of staff accountants.
  • Identifying KPIs and monitoring revenue levels of clients.
  • Preparing corporate and individual tax returns.
  • Investigating and resolving account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Preparing state, local, and special tax returns.
  • Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
  • Continually build and nurture an internal and external network and leverage effective relationships to develop new business opportunities.
  • Assisting with strategy internally and externally.
  • In addition, you will demonstrate clear and effective communications in a team-oriented culture and develop and cultivate long-term, professional client relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of recent public accounting, experience including management of financial statement audits is a plus.
  • CPA license or eligible to obtain CPA license
  • Technical proficiency with the ability to effectively supervise and lead engagements
  • GAAP and FASB knowledge with the ability to remain abreast of new accounting standards
  • Proactive and resourceful with strong communication, supervisory, analytical, leadership, client service and PC skills including Microsoft Office and QuickBooks software proficiency
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced team-oriented environment and interact professionally with clients and all levels of our team
  • Master’s degree (MBA) preferred
